Responsibilities
Photo/Video Intern & Mentorship
-
Roughly 4-5 hours per week with flexibility on which days you choose. We work around YOUR schedule
-
Shoot on site. Photo and video capture during live sauna sessions with a cinema-caliber camera as well as on phones: guests, guides, fire, ice, steam, weather. Learn to work fast in hard light and harder conditions.
-
Edit and deliver. Assist with culling, color, and cut. Build a delivery workflow you'll use for the rest of your career.
-
Help run the feed. Assist with planning, scheduling, captioning, and posting across Instagram and other channels. This will be managed by the Sauna Camp team, but you will have direct insights to the workflow. See what a real media strategy looks like from the inside.
-
Read the numbers. Sit in on performance reviews. Learn which posts moved bookings and which just got likes, and why those are different questions.
-
Build your own campaigns. You'll develop and pitch multiple self-directed content pieces across the season, from pitch to concept to final cut, with feedback at every stage.
-
Weekly 1:1 mentorship with our founder as a standing session covering craft, strategy, career, and critique of your work
-
Weekly content brainstorm sessions on brand voice, audience building, campaign planning, and how marketing decisions connect to revenue
-
Portfolio and career development including two formal portfolio reviews (mid-season and end-of-season) and help building the reel or book you'll actually send out
What we're looking for
-
Currently enrolled undergraduate, able to receive academic credit for this internship through your institution (we'll complete any paperwork your school requires)
-
Studying film, photography, marketing, content, communications, journalism, design, or coming at it from somewhere else entirely with the work to back it up
-
Comfortable with a camera and at least one editing tool (polish is not expected, instinct is)
-
BONUS: Owns or has school access to a camera body (we can talk about gear; not having a kit is not a dealbreaker)
-
Genuinely curious about how brands are built, not just how posts are made
-
Able to be outside in Minnesota winter for hours at a time in the winter
-
Reliable transportation to Camp Ihduhapi in Loretto
