Welcome to Our New Home at Camp Ihduhapi
We’re excited to share some big news: Sauna Camp is moving to a new home starting in our 2025–2026 season! After two amazing years of gathering, plunging, and steaming together, we’re leveling up the experience with a new location that offers more space, comfort, and opportunities for connection.
What you should know:
New on-site lodging and retreat accommodations
For the first time ever, we’re offering on-site lodging! That means you can turn your sauna session into a full retreat or simply a long staycation weekend. Stay overnight in cozy cabins, and experience the rhythm of sauna life without having to drive home after. This also opens up a world of opportunities for events, team retreats, and private group experiences; all hosted right at Sauna Camp.
30 Minutes From Minneapolis
Convenience matters. Sauna Camp’s new home, Camp Ihduhapi in Independence, Minnesota, is located just 30 minutes from Minneapolis, the same distance from the city as our previous location. We wanted to make it easy to slip away for a day, or a weekend, for sauna, nature, and community without adding a longer drive.
On the Shores of Lake Independence
Preserving our frozen lake plunge experience is one of the most important parts of our experience that we wanted to preserve. Our new home sits on a beach right on Lake Independence on a 175-acre property, giving us even better access to the water for refreshing plunges between sauna sessions. The area is less inhabited which leads to more nature views and fewer houses.
BONUS! Our view from Camp still faces west, so we even kept our iconic sunsets.
Updated Facilities for a Better Experience
New updated changing and warming area right at the beach, so you can transition easily between hot and cold.
Bathrooms next to the parking lot for added convenience as you arrive and settle in before checking in for Sauna Camp down at the lake.
A Bigger Vision for Community
This move allows us to expand what Sauna Camp can be: a gathering place for not just our sauna sessions that are so beloved, but also workshops, seasonal events, wellness retreats, and other creative collaborations.
